Granola Girl Shoes: my top 5 picks for road life

If you’re looking for the cherry on top of your granola girl inspired outfits, look no further. You’ve come to the right place.

As someone who lives full time on the road, I have to be pretty selective on what kind of shoes I take with me. They need to be functional, not take up too much space, and most importantly, make me feel good. Below you will find a quick roundup of my 5 ride or die granola girl inspired shoes.

What is a Granola Girl? “A person (male or female) who enjoys hiking, canoeing and other outdoors-y things. They often can be seen drinking out of a Camelbak, wearing tie-dye, wearing Chacos, and eating trail mix. They're the type of people you see hiking in the mountains of the United States or backpacking across other countries for long periods of time.”

The definition of a granola girl per the Urban Dictionary. But in my mind, a granola girl is ANYONE who enjoys spending time outside. You don’t have to be a world traveler, just a lover of the outdoors. And because of this blog, have a good taste in shoes. 😉

Blundstones will forever be the #1 granola girl shoe for me. I bought these back in 2020 and they have not failed me since. My ride or die, the shoe I wear quite literally almost every day. Trust me when I say you will not regret this purchase.

Not only are they incredibly comfortable, but they are ideal for pretty much any situation. I’ve worn these throughout Norway, Italy, Morocco and all over the US. From fancy dinners, summer BBQ’s and even small day hikes.

If you’re looking for some sizing guidance, check out THIS VIDEO I posted on Instagram. The sizing can be tricky at first, but once you find the perfect fit you will never want to take them off.

If you’re not keen on purchasing new, you can find LOADS of used Blundstones on Depop, Poshmark, at REI Garage Sale, and even EBay. It just takes a little digging!

Know that if you purchase these shoes, they will last you for years. Quality over quantity. Good for the environment and good for your bank account.

Another favorite of mine. These are my go-to on those crisp spring / fall days. They are so easy to style and I feel like they add so much to any outfit!

I tried a few different versions of the Boston Clogs on in store and eventually landed on the soft Suede Leather version. They fit my foot much better and felt comfy from the get go.

My go-to camp shoe, shower shoe, socks with sandals shoe, and summer shoe. Tevas really cover all the bases. And I am obsessed with this tan color.

I bought these almost 3 years ago and have worn them pretty aggressively since. And guess what? They’re still kickin’ it. Best $55 you’ll ever spend.

I purchased these early 2023 and haven’t looked back. Casey has the mens version too and we both LOVE them. We’ve done multiple backpacking trips with them and have had little to no issues.

Although I will say, the break in process was a little gnarly at first. BUT I didn't really try to break them in… I just wore brand new hiking boots on a 26 mile backpacking trip with the terrain being mostly sand. Do not recommend haha.

They are currently on SALE for 139.93! I love these boots and have no intention of getting new ones anytime soon.

Another one of my all time favorites! I’ve been wearing this style of Birkenstocks for almost 10 years. And guess what? I still LOVE them.

I’m currently on my second pair. But ONLY because my last pair unfortunately took a swim in the Pacific Ocean and they were never to be seen again. This is your reminder to check the tides before you leave your sandals on the beach for a walk…

Aside from that mishap, these have lasted me for years and I’m nowhere near needing to get another pair. I’m betting I’ll have these into my 30s and maybe even beyond.

Hands down THE BEST pair of snow boots I have ever owned. And they quite literally saved us throughout this winter in the truck camper.

They keep our feet dry, they’re incredibly cozy, super lightweight, and I really love the way they look.

Nothing but good things to say about Fubuki and I love all their color options!

And there you have it. My top 5 granola girl shoes for road life. I don’t see myself switching any of these up any time soon and I hope you feel the same. When it comes to shopping, it’s so important for me to find quality items that will last me years vs. last only for a few months. It’s so much better for the environment and it’s a lot better for your bank account.

If you’re looking to shop used, here’s a few recommendations on where to find just that…

DEPOP , POSHMARK, REI RE-SUPPLY, GEAR TRADE, EBAY + more.
